In May 2024 I moved to Freiburg im Breisgau.
Because of my freelance work as an interviewer, I have no ties to a location and could choose where I move. The disadvantage, however, is that I have no connection and therefore don’t get to know people at work.
For this reason, I decided to take the initiative myself.
I have set up groups on Telegram myself for things that I like to do and that are close to my heart.7
Massage exchange
For example, I set up a massage exchange group. Since I like giving massages, I decided to find other massage enthusiasts this way.

Free Hugs (hug for you)
I have often attended Free Hugs events or organized them myself. I am amazed about how a stranger can make your day. For many people, a hug is often the best thing they receive all day long.
Sometimes I get feedback that I have saved someone’s day. People often come running with joy when they see us.
In my opinion, a beautiful and open city like Freiburg needs Free Hugs.
That’s why I decided to set up a group for Free Hugs. Anyone who wants to do this with me can join this group. Of course, everything is voluntary. You are welcome to join the group if hugging strangers is outside your comfort zone.

Of course, you should also know that at most 5% of passers-by are ready for a hug. Often, people just take photos or whisper.
But it also happens that people are so happy that they want to give something back. I have received everything from flowers to money to chocolate or other food.
I also think it’s important to mention what hugging so much does to you.
Your body releases so many endorphins that you get really high. You can’t stop grinning.
So go for it and join us next time. You’ll find the announcements in the group. You can also write to me if you have any questions.
